In 2018, Darci Haueisen and Amy Gross felt the Lord calling them to serve Him in a brand new way. They realized God had given them both a vision of land and cabins to be used to serve those in need of rest, restoration, and renewal. They were two women with a dream and no real ability to make it happen, but trusting the Lord to lead the way.
All the while, Darci’s mother, Nancy, had also been praying about how to use her family’s ranch and resources to glorify God. Years prior, Nancy offered the ranch to a young men’s mentorship program and she was filled with joy by how the Lord used that experience. After much prayer, the Lord revealed to her that she should reach out to dear friends, Cody and Stephanie Neff, to brainstorm with them as to how she could again use the ranch for God’s Kingdom.
Cody and Stephanie were overwhelmed with the Lord’s timing. They had also been praying about purchasing property in the area. They’d once done a work project for the Haueisens, and since that time, they told the Lord that if he provided a place like that for their family, they’d use it for His ministry. They’d even explored property bordering the Haueisen Ranch, taking in the whole view from the top of a nearby hill. Then, shortly after their conversation with Nancy, God opened the doors for them to buy that exact land.
Cody, Stephanie, Nancy, Amy, and Darci all gathered together to share visions and pray over clear direction and guidance. This group of five became the Board of Directors for the now known ministry called Cleft of Hope. Cleft of Hope’s mission is to advance God’s kingdom by serving anyone in need, but the ministry has a particular interest in serving the needs of first responders and their families.
Between the two ranches combined, there are numerous cabins and resources available to help facilitate the rest, restoration, and renewal that Christ brings.
WHAT'S IN A NAME?
As the group prayed about what the name would be, Nancy had a vision that she shared which the entire group immediately fell in love with; and the name was formed. Nancy has a passion for eagles. At times she would gaze at the rock clefts that are along the edge of the ranch to watch the eagles. They had a nest within the rock clefts where they raised babies and were protected from danger. When she thought about the purpose of the ministry and what we have to offer, it became clear that we want to offer hope in this day and age and point people toward Jesus. Jesus is our protection against everything we face in this world and our hope. So we put the two together to form ‘Cleft of Hope’.
